The Art of Salvador Dali

Surrealist painter Salvador Dali
Salvador Dali was a surrealist painter from Spain who was known for his dreamlike paintings featuring melting clocks, elephants with elongated legs, and various other oddities that help to define the Surrealist movement. Although he's been dead for nearly 20 years, Dali continues to influence the art world and his paintings sell for millions of dollars. In addition, posters and prints of his paintings are very popular among college students.
I've always found Dali's use of color to be very interesting, which is perhaps one of the reasons why it's so popular for decorative art, in addition to the fact that his art is totally mesmerizing. His paintings depict scenes that seem to only be possible in the dream world, with stretched limbs and transformed body parts.
Take a look at a small sampling of his paintings that I've found:
Love Dali! We have a Dali museum in St. Pete. Great works on display.
